We have to address that pretty fast because 2030 is not far away, and if you’re selling bonds, you’re not going to sell them on a 10 or 11-year timeframe. So, that basically means that’s going to be unavailable between now and 2030, and the longer we wait the more behind the eight ball we get in terms of infrastructure and technology improvements.
I think we should address that very quickly and I’m in favor supporting that because I believe that we need to – it’s just like any other – if I’m in a private business or I’m in a non-profit, you have to constantly reinvest in your operations and your infrastructure, otherwise you just get farther and farther behind and you can’t keep up. We have to do the same in our schools. It’s a vital institution in our state and we need to be willing to allocate those funds and the best way to do it, I think, is through the long-term bonding.
I would hope in this next legislative session, that we can get that extended so that you can get out more than 20, 30 years, so that you can actually have decent opportunity to go into the bond markets.
