Tamiya DT-03 (& DT-02) Best Basic Upgrades x 2: Metal Ball Bearings & Steel Pinion

Want to prepare your buggy for a more powerful Brushless Motor? Or just want to add some more durability and less friction? Or are you looking for the best and cheapest place to start upgrading your Tamiya DT-03 or Tamiya DT-02? Here's a guide: How to install ball bearings and a steel pinion ... basic, cheap and essential:

14 x 1150 Rubber Sealed Metal Ball Bearings (size 5x11x4)
1 x 0.8 Module 17T or 19T Steel Pinion

The upgrades can be used with any Tamiya DT-03: The Tamiya Neo Fighter Buggy, Tamiya Racing Fighter or Tamiya Aqroshot ... and any Tamiya DT-02 Buggy too!

The unit in this video is a Tamiya Racing Fighter X-SA Version. This means a semi-assembled unit, with no ball bearings or steel pinion. If upgrading an assembly kit (like the two other DT-03s in this video) I recommend upgrading to ball bearings and steel pinion during the initial build. This will save you from a lot of hassle later.

1/10 scale finished R/C model.
Polycarbonate body and wing are pre-cut and pre-painted, with marking stickers applied.
DT-03 Monocoque Frame Chassis
Length: 400mm

Height: 134mm.
Wheelbase: 287mm
Tread front: 221mm, rear: 208mm
Ribbed front and square spike rear tires.
Front arms have 25-degree skid angle for stable off-road driving.
Features a sealed rear gearbox with internal gear differential unit, plus a dust cover for R/C equipment.
A wide range of option parts is available to tune and customize your DT-03 chassis car.
