A huge thank you to the lovely people who helped me make this cover possible! Eternally grateful to VESEN for mixing this, happy to have been able to work with him again! The mix turned out amazing! Finally able to work with Ash, one of the first few I interacted with in the community & the MV is GORGEOUS! AGEKK stayed up to record guides for me & I am so, so grateful. chicken’s art is so beautiful—she patiently listened to me brainrot about how we could put our own spin to this while staying true to the original & Kaveh as a character! (shoutout to yakuminos!) Honestly can’t express my gratitude enough to everyone, I hope I did this song justice—especially grateful to Will Stetson, Miyolophone, niu arx, softmode & niqte for creating this song! As a creative, there’s times where you’ll find yourself striving for perfection, but what does it take to remain honest in your creations? Pouring your heart & soul into your craft that constantly goes unappreciated or unseen, again & again… It’s hard to stay true to your beliefs & persevere onwards without nothing but yourself & your ideas. Sometimes, you’ll just get stuck when you’re creating for the sake of other people, drowning under all the expectations; then what? It’s painful to be destroyed by your own craft & it’s just as painful to have to destroy it with your own hands. I think that there’s something that can be taken from all the turmoil—A catharsis, of sorts, if you will. The willingness to struggle onwards if it means that someone might see their efforts & be inspired; that an impact might be left behind. It’s unfortunate that people tend to only recognize brillance after the source is gone, where they don’t live to see the day their craft is praised—Really, I think that’s part of the reason why we’re willing to burn out if it means being able to continue to create. As you continue to sacrifice yourself & your heart to create such art, you’re stuck between wanting to be perceived by many & not wanting to be perceived at all. (there’s that saying/belief that people can only create beautiful things because they’ve been through hell and back; I think what drives people to create even more after going through the most terrible time in their lives is the passion they have towards their craft, their livelihood.

My biggest struggle thus far with writing is only wanting people who will treasure it to read it, which isn’t really feasible considering that it’s what I do for a living LOL We rarely get all the things we want, but it is what it is; you just get back up & try again. Maybe, in a way, success & failure are the same; they might continue to haunt you, but they also only stick around for a while. There’s strength in not giving up. Some think of it as being stubborn; I think it’s a bit of both. Kaveh is someone who wants to be understood, known, cared for beyond his art—not just for his craft. Ideals are so incredibly precious. I think that’s what really resonated with me the most. (take a shot every time I say I think LOL I don’t want to necessarily make these into statements because your interpretation of his lore/character story might be different than how I interpret it, but that’s the charm of it, I guess?)

I don’t want to offer plain words of encouragement because I know it’s not always nice to hear when you’re at your lowest, so instead, my dear fellow creatives, I wish you all well and days where you can look back at your creations with pride. You can always go back to the things you love, even if you’ve stepped away for years—sometimes, your dreams end up looking a bit different from what you imagine—Even if you’re forced to give up on your ideals, perhaps it’s just waiting for you in the future; your craft will always welcome you back.
