Are we prepared to deal with law and order in 2040? How can Bengaluru Police increase its capabilities and capacities to deal with both real-world and cybercrimes? What does it need to do in terms of manpower, training and technology?

Col. KPM Das
Col. Das is the National Cybersecurity and Trust Officer for Cisco driving the emerging cyber security initiatives in India and Asia Pacific. Earlier he was the Global Head of Operations for MindTree. Prior to tenures in the IT industry, KPM was with the Indian Army for 25 years and was in the Information Warfare Directorate before he transitioned to corporate life. He is a graduate of the National Defence Academy and the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru.

Praveen Sood
Praveen Sood heads the Karnataka police force as its Director General & Inspector General of Police. During his distinguished career, he has served in various posts including the Police Commissioner of Mysore & Bengaluru, the Addl. Commissioner of Police of Traffic, Bengaluru, MD, Karnataka State Police Housing Corporation and worked as Principal Secretary, Home Department. He set in place several initiatives in prevention of crime and better management of traffic during his tenure, is pushing for speedier investigation and awareness for prevention of cybercrime. He was involved in the establishment of the state-of-the-art “Centre for Cyber-crime Investigation, Training & Research”, a collaboration between the CID and Infosys Foundation for creating capacity for investigation and trials of cyber-crimes.

Jayna Kothari
Jayna Kothari is a senior advocate in the Karnataka High Court and the Supreme Court. Social rights, disability rights, family law, constitutional and administrative laws are her areas of expertise. She is also the co-founder of the Centre for Law and Policy Research, a not-for-profit trust dedicated to legal research.
