The Ultimate One-Pot Seafood Boil Soup Recipe - Alright, y’all, today I’m bringing one of my all-time favorites to the table: Seafood Boil Soup. This is for everyone who loves the flavors of a seafood boil but hates the struggle of peeling shrimp or cracking crab shells. I wanted to create something where you can enjoy all those bold, buttery, spicy flavors in one easy, spoonable bite.
This isn’t gumbo—no Cajun Holy Trinity here—just a rich, flavorful base with smoked sausage, shrimp, mussels, potatoes, and sweet corn, all simmered to perfection. And the secret ingredient? That crab paste—it takes this soup to the next level!

Step-by-Step Instructions for Seafood Boil Soup:
1. *Melt the Butter*
Place a large pot over medium heat. Add 2 sticks of butter and let it melt completely.
2. *Sauté the Vegetables*
Add the diced white onion, celery, and minced garlic to the melted butter. Cook for about 3–5 minutes until the onions are translucent and fragrant.
3. *Add Seasonings*
Stir in the Old Bay seasoning, onion powder, chili powder, paprika, and shrimp bouillon. Mix well to coat the vegetables with the spices.
4. *Incorporate the Crab Paste*
Add ½ jar of crab paste to the pot. Stir until it blends with the butter and spices.
5. *Thicken with Flour*
Sprinkle in ½ cup of flour. Stir constantly for about 2 minutes to cook out the raw flour taste.
6. *Add the Clam Base or Seafood Stock*
Gradually pour in 6–8 cups of clam base or seafood stock while stirring continuously to prevent lumps. Increase the heat slightly and bring to a simmer. Allow the soup base to thicken.
7. *Add the Proteins and Vegetables*
Once the base is smooth and thickened, add the following:
**Smoked Sausage**: Sliced into bite-sized pieces.
**Mussels**: Cleaned and ready to cook.
**Shrimp**: Peeled and deveined.
**Potatoes**: Par-cooked and diced.
**Sweet Corn**: Cut into smaller pieces or use frozen corn.
8. *Simmer the Soup*
Reduce the heat to medium-low and let the soup simmer for 15–20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the flavors are well combined.
9. *Finish with Cilantro*
Add freshly chopped cilantro to the pot and stir. Cilantro adds a fresh, vibrant flavor that enhances the dish.
10. *Taste and Adjust*
Taste the soup and adjust the seasonings as needed. Add more salt, pepper, or spices to suit your preference.
11. *Serve*
Ladle the soup into bowls, ensuring each serving has a bit of everything—shrimp, sausage, mussels, potatoes, and corn. Garnish with additional cilantro if desired.
12. *Optional: Add Lemon Wedges*
Serve with lemon wedges on the side for an extra zesty touch.
