What was it really like to be a Star Wars fan in 1977? In this episode, I share my true story of growing up in San Diego during the original Star Wars craze — including the unbelievable moment when I discovered Mark Hamill’s family phone number in the actual phone book and decided to call it.

From seeing Star Wars in 70mm for the first time, to haunted houses recreating scenes from the movie, to the unforgettable phone call that followed… this is one of my favorite childhood memories, and I’m excited to finally tell the full story.

Toward the end of the episode, I also share a surprisingly refreshing way some people wake up — inspired by the beautiful “Pure Imagination” performances from Fiona Apple and the Jersey Surf Drum & Bugle Corps.
