It all started when as a young boy living in KwaZulu-Natal, Robert Marawa listened to the commentary of local football derbies on a Small FM radio and would go on to imitate the commentary, reading from newspaper clippings. Fast forward a couple of years later - Robert Marawa is an undisputed household name when it comes to sportscasting. He has released his memoir, Gqimm Shelele, The Robert Marawa Story.
