The Master of Fashion Management (MFM) students at NIFT turned their final jury into a vibrant celebration of culture, creativity, communication, and commerce. This wasn’t a typical academic review—it was an immersive showcase blending storytelling, research, craft, performance, and business insight.
Each group presented deep-dive explorations into craft clusters, revealing the richness of India’s handlooms, handicrafts, artisan networks, and heritage ecosystems. From block printing in Bagru to Pattachitra in Odisha, students demonstrated not just market analysis, but cultural sensitivity and design thinking.
To convey their understanding of socio-economic challenges and supply chain dynamics, students used formats like brand storytelling, roleplays, customer journey mapping, and even a high-energy Nukkad Natak (street play). The courtyard came alive with powerful performances that highlighted artisan struggles, sustainability issues, ethical sourcing, and consumer awareness.
What made the event special was the fusion of theatre, ethnography, marketing, and fashion strategy. Students used visual storytelling, moodboards, retail concepts, persona mapping, business models, and forecasting tools to communicate their work. From SWOT analyses to empathy maps, brand canvases to influencer outreach plans, the presentations balanced academic rigor and real-world relevance.
Faculty, external jurors, and guests were awestruck by the level of innovation, confidence, collaboration, and cultural intelligence on display. The day reflected how young minds are reshaping the future of fashion and business, not just through design but through purpose-driven narratives.
Bravo, MFM Cohort! You didn’t just present—you performed, persuaded, and provoked thought.
