The Secret Life Of Dennis Weave: From Gunsmoke to McCloud.
Dennis Weaver was an American actor known for his work in film and television. He was born on June 4, 1924, in Joplin, Missouri, and grew up in California. Weaver served in the U.S. Navy during World War II before attending the University of Oklahoma, where he earned a degree in drama.
Weaver began his acting career in the 1950s, appearing in films such as "The Redhead from Wyoming" and "The Bridges at Toko-Ri." He is perhaps best known for his role as Deputy Chester Goode on the television series "Gunsmoke," which he played from 1955 to 1964. Weaver also starred in the series "McCloud" from 1970 to 1977, playing a New Mexico lawman who solves crimes in New York City.
In addition to his work in film and television, Weaver was a noted environmentalist and activist. He served as president of the National Wildlife Federation from 1998 to 1999 and was a vocal advocate for alternative energy and conservation efforts.
Weaver passed away on February 24, 2006, at the age of 81, leaving behind a legacy as a versatile actor and dedicated environmentalist.
