Glass canopy install on new City Rail Link Station

Описание к видео Glass canopy install on new City Rail Link Station

In between the earth and sky elements of the Wellesley St entrance building at the new City Rail Link midtown Auckland Te Waihorotiu Station sits a large glass canopy or awning.

Representing te whaiao (the daylight or mer of dawn), the canopy is a transitional element that provides layering, solidity and reflectivity to connect the earth with the sky. This glazed structure is also a physical reminder of the act of Tane pushing apart his parents – as part of the Māori creation story.

Watch here the process of installing each panel into its frame by the hardworking Link Alliance team.
