Roland VSR-880 - Short 8 Track Recording

Описание к видео Roland VSR-880 - Short 8 Track Recording

I dusted out my old Roland VSR-880 Recorder one short afternoon to fill up 8 tracks of instruments.

I had converted the VSR-880's hard drive to SD Card storage after its IDE hard drive went bad. Newer SD Card to IDE Adapters supposedly don't work, but you can use SD cards using a SD to CompactFlash adapter along with a CompactFlash to 44-pin IDE adapter.

I occasionally use the VSR-880 as a simple recorder, dump tracks into my computer with the VSWE application, and mix in Reaper.

Acoustic Guitar (3 tracks) - Beesneez BU87I C mic - Stam SA73 Mic Preamp
Kick Drum - Electro Voice ND868 Mic - Symetrix SX202 Mic Preamp
Snare Drum - Shure SM57 Mic - Warm Tonebeast Mic Preamp
Mono Drum Overhead - BU87I C - Stam SA73
Bass - Instrument Input of Warm Tonebeast
Electric Guitar - BU87I C - Stam SA73

The Yamaha FG700S acoustic guitar has old Elixir strings that have dulled but aren't completely dead.
The Gretsch Energy kick drum has a Aquarian Regulator and Superkick with no internal muffling.
The Pork Pie B.O.B. snare has its stock import Remo heads, with some Moongel to deaden the ring.
It was the first time mic'ing up my Tweed Deluxe circuit head.
