🔸 Who is Lord John Taylor?

John Taylor, also recognised as Lord Taylor of Warwick, is a political figure with an influential impact. From legal positions to an MP for the Conservative party, John has had a high-profile career in the upper echelons of government and continues to impress as an expert on the board of private companies.

Transitioning into media and broadcast work in his post-political positions, recently John has also become known for his on-screen appearances and presenting abilities. Armed with his personal experiences, John is sought after for speaking engagements, exploring such topics as racial equality, leadership, and inclusion, having carved his own path despite the lack of diversity in his field.

Best known for his political contributions, John first entered the public sector as a local councillor for Solihull, which later led to him gaining a seat as the Conservative MP for the constituency of St Alphege in 1985. After serving for two terms, John became a Special Advisor to the Home Secretary and Ministers of State, a role in which he pioneered the Criminal Evidence Amendment Act 1997, establishing the UK’s first DNA Database.

Throughout his political career, John gained a reputation as a committed and influential figure, despite facing racial discrimination in his positions, and was honoured by being made a peer. In 1996, John was named as The Lord Taylor of Warwick, one of the youngest and only Black peer in the House of Lords.
