Unboxing the Coronet Herald Lathe and having a go

Описание к видео Unboxing the Coronet Herald Lathe and having a go

So, my Charnwood W811 lathe finally needed replacing. Making projects on it started taking a lot longer as the motor was struggling, so I decided that now was the time for an upgrade.

I purchased the Record Power Coronet Herald Lathe from DM Tools (https://www.dm-tools.co.uk/) and decided to make a video of myself unboxing it for the first time, setting it up and having my first go on it.
This is my first unboxing video and I have learned a lot in the process, but please leave me a comment down below if you want to give me feedback or have any questions on my experience.

As a quick first project, I made a small Ash Change Bowl from a 5x2" blank.
Products used:
‪@ChestnutProducts‬ (https://chestnutproducts.co.uk/) Cellulose sanding sealer and Microcrystalline wax
Yorkshire grit (https://yorkshire-grit.com/) Original

I have the Rutlands 3" Xact Precision Woodturning Chuck (now Precision 75) with a 1"x8tpi thread, so this is used with an adaptor purchased from Rutlands (https://www.rutlands.com/)

Thank you to ‪@jpwoodwork‬, ‪@WaynetheWoodturner‬ and ‪@MapleTreeStudios‬ for their advice.
