Excavation and exploration efforts are crucial for uncovering more about these archaeological treasures. Heritage tourism plays a vital role in promoting these sites, necessitating robust conservation and management strategies. Vidya Dehejia's contributions have been instrumental in advancing our understanding of Yogini temples and their significance. The iconography and sculptures of Yoginis reflect themes of empowerment and strength. Also, the perception of their tribal origins is a misconception. References to Yoginis in ancient texts further attest to their cultural importance. Leveraging tourism to attract younger generations to these sites is key to their preservation and appreciation for generations to come.

About The Speaker:
Dr. Adyasha Das is an Associate Professor at the Indian Institute of Tourism & Travel Management(IITTM) Bhubaneswar, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. She has published extensively in several areas of tourism, focusing on the cultural and management perspectives. Her major publications are in the areas of heritage and cultural tourism, human resource management and tourism, and the psychology of tourist behaviour. She is an avid researcher and has presented papers at several universities abroad.
