On this particular day, the bite was actually pretty tough. I switched jerkbaits several times and learned a lot about some of the new baits I picked up. I will need to make some slight mods to a few of these to increase their performance. Stay tuned for that... Good news is I still managed to catch several fish plus I got some bonus SLABS on the Donkey Tail :)

Jerkbait fishing is one of the most technical ways of bass fishing that I know of. They are designed to suspend so they make for an excellent choice when the water is sub-50 degrees and the bass are still relatively sluggish. If I could go back and do things differently on this day, I would have came out later in the day as the sun warmed the shallower water and I guarantee I would have wrecked the fish. Sadly, I was a doofus and fished too early!
