Philadelphia police are investigating after two women were found stabbed to death inside the basement of a home in the Crescentville section.

Officers arrived at the home in the 6000 block of Bingham Street around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday after someone called 911.

Police say a 75-year-old woman and her 58-year-old daughter suffered multiple stab wounds.

Both women were pronounced dead at the scene. Their names have not been released.
