M56 Eastbound Motorway Drive (J10-J5) | Acton Bridge to Cheadle Hulme

In this video, we'll take a journey from Acton Bridge, Cheshire, down to Cheadle Hulme, Manchester, on the M56 Eastbound Motorway. We'll start our drive along the A49 with its beautiful countryside up to the M56 junction.

Joining the M56 at junction 10, we head east towards Manchester. This was video was filmed on a Tuesday morning between 8am - 9am. The weather was cold and frosty but there was a beautiful sunrise happening off-camera on my right-hand side. The sun does cause a couple of problems along the way but it is winter and the sun is low, it is only to be expected.

The M56 is being converted to a Smart Motorway from Junction 7-5. Roadworks are nearly complete but there are still long traffic delays.

We leave the motorway at junction 5, Manchester airport junction. Will we be lucky and see any aeroplanes land or take off today? We join the Manchester airport relief road (A555) for a short time before turning off and head towards Heald Green and Cheadle Hulme.
