The Chain hunger strike at Jantar- Manter at New Dehli from 08/12/2023. The list of the participants in thr chain hunger strike is annexed herewith as a ready reference. The Chain hunger strike will continue till the date 24 December 2023 & may extend beyond the date as per the circumstances prevailed at the relevant period.

The demands are not new & continued to stand since the year 2017, the base of which is the petition praying for amendment in the Employees' Pension Scheme, 1995 addressedto the Council of states (Rajya Sabha) on 14/05/2012 by Honorable Shri Prakashji Jaw dekar the then Member of Rajya Sabha. Accordingly the Committee of petitions have been constituted under the chairmanship of shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari, the then M.P. of the Rajya Sabha. The Committee recommended positively. Thus our demands are coherent with the recommendation of the Koshyari committee which is as under.

a) Ensure minimum pension of Rs. 7500 or more per month with necessary budgetary support if need be.

b) Pension under EPS-95to be linked with inflation and thus Dearness Allowance to be declared from time to time on par with declaration by the Central Government.

c) Government should contribute @8.33% instead of 1.16% so that equality shall be maintained in contribution by the Employee and the Government which will be leverage in enhancement of the Pension Fund maintained by the Central Government.

d) Restore all the facilities withdrawn by the central Government during 2008 related with Commutation of pension and return of Capital.

e) All other welfare measures brought to the notice of the Central Government by the National Agitation Committee, EPS-1995/

f). Applicability of the higher pension to the pre-retirees of 01/09/2014.

g) Abnormal delay to be avoided & immediate action to grant higher pension to

eligible pensioners retired after 01/09/2014 or exit at the age of 58 after 01/09/2014.

4) The National Agitation Committee humbly submits to consider the demands

narrated above before 07/12/2023 & please maintain the peace & harmony between

the pensioners and the ministry of labor & employment. If nothing is communicated

the agitation will be commenced with effect from 07/12/2023 & will be continued till

the last date of hunger strike. The impugned agitation will be intensified thereafter.

The cost & consequences arising from the notified agitation or intensified agitation

shall lie onthe Ministry of labor & Employment & its offices under the administrative

control of the Ministry.
In view of the issues narrated in foregoing Paragraphs, the National Agitation Committee, EPS-95 once again urge to your kind honor to Please do not constraint us to aggravate the situation beyond our control and please settle the dust soon before gathering a momentum from of fast unto death from 7th December 2023..

The negotiations & settlement before 7th December 2023 shall highly be appreciated. It is once again prayed to please approve the long pending demands & please extend happiness & joy to the old aged pensioners. Please do not attempt to feeble the pensioners.
