Hello, I'm Dr. Clint Sexton and I am a functional medicine doctor. Many people ask the question, are functional medicine doctors real doctors? So, depends on what you consider a real doctor to be. If you consider a real doctor to be someone you go in, talk to them for 5 to 10 minutes, get a prescription, then leave the office... no we are not real doctors :). We take a very different approach to healthcare. We look for root causes. We work with lifestyle, we work with diet, we work with nutrition. We're looking at discovering and addressing the factors that have resulted in the problem you have. So that is the short answer.
