Overall Construction: Best thing about the construction of this game is that it and all games made by Rather Dashing Games is that they are 100% Made In America. For your money you get essentially 3 decks of cards. One is a larger set of cards & the other 2 are standard size decks. They are high quality cards. Even the larger sized cards are easy to shuffle. I don't want to forget, there is a sheet of coin tokens. They are a nice sturdy cardboard stock. Even the artwork is amazing. My only real complaint is that the box is way to big for the small amount of product in it. But if I remember correctly they were talking about making it smaller. Hopefully they were able to do it for the second printing.

Gameplay: You want to gain renown for your Tavern. There are Four to choose from. Each Tavern gets 7 Cards. 4 of them are their level indicator cards. The other 3 are cards you use to reserve a quest. When you do the initial set up you want to separate the quest cards into 3 different piles. Each player gets 4 Adventurer cards and 5 Gold pieces. All of the cards are pretty self-explanatory. Each of the Quest Cards tell you what you need. Numbers in the colored circles show you how many of each type and level of adventurer you will need to complete the quest. On the right of the card you see how much gold you'll get for completing the quest, if there's anything special about the quest, and how much renown you will earn for it. Since you can assign adventurers to a quest without completing it I suggest you try to assign adventurers to quests with specials, especially if the Special Quest area has your Taven's logo or 2 Trumpets crossing (Muster Symbol).
At the start of your turn draw 2 cards but by the end of your turn your hand of cards need to match your hand limit listed on the level card.
In order to play out cards you must pay 1 gold for each card played. You can play as many cards as you have gold for. If you are running short of cards you may buy 1 card for 2 gold. And if you're running out of gold you can trade 2 cards for 1 gold. To me this helps balance out the game so no one has to truly struggle through the game. Lets say you have extra cards or too many of a specific type of adventurer you can use your turn to trade out those cards for gold and if you sell enough of them, like I did, you can extend your turn and possibly take a quest on the first turn.
In the Adventurer deck you have 19 different cards:
4 are Basic Adventurer Types -- Cleric(G), Rogue(Y), Warrior(R), & Wizard(B). They cost 1 gold.
7 are Multi-Class Characters -- Druid(G/B), Paladin(R/G), Alchemist(B/Y), Swashbuckler(R/G), Ranger(B/R), Bard(G/Y), & Monk(G/B/R/Y). Obviously these will be the types of adventures you really want. They cost 2 gold.
7 are Magic Items -- Mithril Shield(cancels actions by other players), Arcane Tome(Rebuilds your hand before your draw phase), King's Banner(Allows you to steal opponents adventures or swap quests), Burglar's Cloak(Allows you to steal half of an opponents gold when completing a quest), Summoning Scroll(Look at and swap cards with another player), Doppelganger Potion(Copy a used Adventurer card), & The Cursed Dagger(Eliminate an adventurer assigned to a quest or a card in someones hand).
The last card is a re-shuffle. For those moments when you know someone has played a card you want or you'd like to see again.
For me some of these cards were only good for trade fodder but you may find some use for them. Depending on what style of strategy some cards will be worth more than others. My strategy was stay low and collect Quests while everyone else is trying to stop everybody else. I only start interfering with others if someone is really close to winning.

Yes/No Recommend: On the basis that this game is 100% American Made I recommend this game. I will say though that this may be a game for only select groups of people. So if you like role-playing or cut-throat strategy games this is the kind of game you want to play. I do recommend that you allot a large portion of table to play this game and if you plan on eating while you play use at least a 6 person table.
