Central Coast Clinical School and Research Institute – the language

Описание к видео Central Coast Clinical School and Research Institute – the language

The Central Coast Clinical School and Research Institute (CCCSRI) is a state-of-the-art education and research facility located on the grounds of Gosford Hospital. The building represents a partnership between Central Coast Local Health District and the University of Newcastle.
Throughout the building, the spaces have been named using traditional Darkinyung (Darkinjung) language. In this video, Aunty Bronwyn Chambers, The Wollotuka Institute’s Elder in Residence, explains the connections between the words and their meaning.
Acknowledgment of Indigenous culture on the Central Coast and early consultation with Darkinyung (Darkinjung) Elders and the Darkinjung Local Aboriginal Land Council informed the CCCSRI building, its interior spaces, wayfinding and artwork.
