Archive Upload: Warhammer Fantasy 8th Edition Batrep - Lizardmen vs Bretonnians

As a companion to last week’s “batrep that was not quite a batrep”, this week we present our very first batrep from twelve years back. A real honest-to-god batrep if ever there was one.

During the heyday of 8th edition Warhammer Fantasy, before the End Times, we regularly played a great number of games at our club, the newly christened, Japan’s United Gaming Society, or JUGS for short. With this renaming, we decided to do an inaugural battle report to demonstrate what we were all about. It was intended to be the first of a whole series of battle reports although this didn’t take place.
For this first batrep, fellow founder JS took the reins and started a YouTube channel called “UGS-Japan” which was the forerunner for our current channel. We decided to film a battle between my very own Lizardmen army and that of fellow club member, and good friend Mikhail, a veteran tournament player, who had represented his home of Finland in numerous European events. Suffice to say, I was a little out of my league, and I had regularly lost to him on numerous occasions, but each time had learnt a great deal, so I was happy to pick up the gauntlet. I’m not one to give up.
