Many people think that working out from home is a compromise. They consider working out from home to be what you do when you can’t access the gym, for whatever reason. It’s a way to “tide yourself over.”

But, in truth, you can actually get incredible results training from home. Arguably, you can even get better results.

Of course, we all know that working out from home is more convenient. We shouldn’t underestimate how important this is: it means better adherence and consistency, which is the MAIN thing missing from most training programs.

But it goes beyond that. Working from home allows you to train with much greater frequency - which can boost energy levels and trigger greater hypertrophy.

Moreover, it means reassessing some of your goals. The main reason a lot of people think they can’t workout from home, is that they don’t have access to as much weight or equipment. This is missing just how much potential bodyweight training (or training with a couple of dumbbells) really has. Invest in some kettlebells and you have even more options - you can train with the kinds of explosive movements usually reserved for Olympic lifting. This results in serious power that translates to amazing sports performance.

I didn’t cover it in this video but overcoming isometrics are also a great option for developing brute strength working out from home.

You can get VERY strong using these methods and if you are genuinely struggling to challenge yourself further with these methods, it may be that you’re actually strong enough already.

Why not consider another avenue for progression? Learn a skill like hand balancing, advanced calisthenics, jump rope, martial arts, dance moves… or work on your cardio or your mobility. You can train your mobility and cardio just fine from within your own four walls.

And if you’re effectively training calisthenics and with dumbbells and cardio… your physique is going to be on point. Again, there’s no need for the gym unless you want to look like a bodybuilder. And you know that’s a whole commitment…

Even if your goal IS to look like a bodybuilder or to bench 200kg… you won’t need to worry about that kind of training for a long time. Most people reading this will absolutely get everything they need working out from home.

I’m not saying the gym is pointless or a bad thing. Of course, there are many advantages to going to the gym. I’m just saying you don’t NEED to go. Like, really.

Working out from home is massively underrated.
