Phek district is about 65 kilometres from Kohima, the capital of Nagaland. Phek is the district headquarter and the other main town is Pfutsero.
Pfutsero can be reached directly from Dimapur by shared taxis but there is just one service in a day. Kohima has relatively more choices. A state transport bus plies between Kohima and Pfutsero but it leaves early in the morning.
There are shared taxis available from Kohima. It is better to check with the locals about the taxi stands as the location may change from the previous one.
Private taxis may be hired also but this is an expensive option unless few people are sharing the taxi.
Options for accommodation in Pfutsero are very limited, just a handful of guesthouses are there.

There is no facility to stay in the villages, the only way possible is that if anyone has any local contacts and the family is willing to host the person. These villages can be visited on a day trip from Pfutsero , although staying here will definitely be a wonderful experience.
These are very remote areas so the facilities are very basic. The wealth of this region lies in its nature and the people of this land.
