Have you ever received a promise from God? What happens next is often unexpected—waiting for it. Most of God’s promises don’t happen an instant after He makes them. It may be short or long or very long—but it’s virtually guaranteed that after you receive the promise, you will enter a season of waiting. Usually, the bigger the promise or the further along you are in your walk with the Lord, the longer the wait will be. God isn’t punishing you. He’s teaching you about yourself and Himself and even about the promise; He wants you to press into His heart and receive fresh revelation. Proverb 8:34 TPT says, “If you wait at wisdom’s doorway, longing to hear a word for every day, joy will break forth within you as you listen for what I’ll say.” Let’s listen for God’s voice together!
