Kato Lechonia is a village where life moves at a different pace, deeply rooted in tradition and the land. Unlike bustling tourist destinations, Kato Lechonia offers a rare glimpse into a world where simplicity reigns and the residents are deeply connected to their fields, flowers, and fruit trees. In this idyllic and tranquil environment, even without many cafes or tourist facilities, relaxation comes naturally to anyone who visits.

Our journey begins on the main road of Kato Lechonia, where we pass by the few local shops that cater to the village's needs. As we venture onto a smaller, more intimate road, we are greeted by traditional homes surrounded by beautiful gardens—a testament to the villagers' love for their land and their way of life.

At 16:00, we arrive at the square of the Agios Georgios Church, a significant landmark in the village. The Church of Agios Georgios was built in 1917 by Dimitrios Papadopoulos (1830-1922), a native of Agios Lavrentios in Pelion, who generously donated 8,000 gold coins for its construction. As we explore the church grounds, we come across the tomb of Dimitrios Papadopoulos at 18:20 and his marble bust at 19:20, both honoring the legacy of this important figure.

The village of Kato Lechonia carries a somber history from the Second World War, when three local women were hanged by the Nazis as punishment for their resistance efforts. This tragic event is commemorated by a white marble fountain at the Agios Georgios Church, seen at 20:40. Additionally, a poignant bronze monument in the form of a tree, bearing the faces of the three women, stands in the village center at 25:20, marking the site where this atrocity took place.
