Repair a Husqvarna Viking 150 stuck in one stitch mode

Описание к видео Repair a Husqvarna Viking 150 stuck in one stitch mode

Here's how to fix a Husqvarna Viking 150 that's either stuck in one stitch mode, or the stitch mode selector has no effect. Common failure in machines are used infrequently, or are left in storage for extended periods of time. The factory applied lubricants dry out and evaporate, leaving behind a varnish that literally glues the pivoting metal parts together.

STEPS:
- 00:35 in the video. Remove the back of the machine. There's a screw at the very top, facing horizontally (don't touch the vertical facing slot head screw that's below it). Then the entire back panel slides with some difficulty, upward.

-Locate the silver metal arm that "runs" in the notches of the stitch mode selector assembly.

-Heat the silver metal arm with a hair blow dryer, and while it's extremely hot, begin actuating it with your finger, and applying little shots of carburetor cleaner to the pivot area. As it cools, apply a quality penetrating oil, like PB Blaser, Kroil, or Liquid Wrench, and then follow up with a quality sewing machine oil, or TriFlow pray lubricant.

-The metal arm will get very hot because it's aluminum, so don't burn your finger. You may want to use the tip of a screwdriver to actuate the arm, rather than your finger.

-Wait for the assembly to cool, and then try to actuate it with your finger, as well as by rotating the stitch mode dial. The arm should operate freely, and easily, and spring load rapidly back into the notches of the mode assembly. If the arm stiffens up as it cools, repeat the heat/carburetor cleaner/lubricant process again.
