Culture Night Belfast, Northern Ireland - This place is for those who love food, who love music, those who love art, as well as those who are generally interested in the events that take place in the streets of the city.
We have been there and we have enjoyed the whole day - parents and kids - since there are different interesting things to be done and watched for all ages; there is music, people performing in the middle of the street, there are some drawing activities the kids could enjoy in addition to the games they could play, and there are also some food for people to eat.
The Culture Night in Belfast, Northern Ireland, is held every single year on the same time and it is considered Belfast's largest, most exciting and inclusive culture celebration that might be taking place in the city. This year, it was the ninth time for this celebration to be held and which depends on the idea of bringing together over 300 free events across 150 locations in Belfast City Center in a single day and which are not far from one another, you could just walk through them all and get the chance to see everything. Even though the Culture Night is held in Belfast, the capital city of Northern Ireland, there are actually lots and lots of people - estimated to be more than 85,000 - who come and enjoy this day from beyond.
On the 22nd of September this year, I decided to head to the Culture Night in Belfast with my family; was a good decision but not the best, lol! Because we have kids and we had to go back home early for them and not stay for as long as we wish - maybe next year we could manage to go without them :-)! At the beginning of the trip and since it was the first day of Autumn, of course it rained, but by the time we were heading to the event, it stopped, which was the best thing at that time to happen.
The best news here is that this event is for free, so everyone will get the chance to go through it without getting any tickets, since it is also a street event in the city. This event starts at 1 Am and usually ends at 10 PM - you might have thought it stays longer since we mentioned that we wanted to stay longer, but it actually ends at 10 - and those events which are dedicated for children finish or close at 9 PM, in addition to that it is illegal to carry children on licensed premises after 8 PM and should be always accompanied by adults.
Walking through the musicians, artists, and sellers, it all started to make sense to me and I understood why they consider this a family friendly event; it really has everything for every single person of the family and thus it ends up with both kids and adults enjoying their time.
Since this event is considered a big one, you should have an idea about the streets which will close and the times of their closing, because they are not all closed during the whole day in order to give the booths and vendors the chance to find a place to stay at.
Being the capital city of Northern Ireland, Belfast is considered an attraction to lots of tourists who would love to come to one of the busiest European cities that is filled with historical treasures ( • Belfast Tourist Attractions ❤ Around Belfa... ). Those tourists who will be visiting Belfast, Northern Ireland, during the last ten days of September, they could attend Culture Night and enjoy this day which turns out like a party - it was just amazing and I think we have to thank those who were behind the preparation phase of such a day.
The good thing for tourists visiting Belfast and enjoying the Culture Night event is that they will come across some of the most famous attractions of the city, they will come across Belfast City Hall ( • City Hall Belfast Visitor Exhibition 4K - ... ), St. Anne's Cathedral ( • St. Anne's Cathedral - Belfast Northern Ir... ), Royal Avenue street, and people will also pass by some beautiful old buildings which they will get astonished with; so it is not just about enjoying the culture of the city, it is also a good tour for those tourists out there who are visiting Belfast during the same time( • Cathedral Quarter in Belfast; Cobbled Stre... ).
What we found out was that the theme for this year's event was called "cultural biodiversity" and there were different activities that were held there. Some of the examples of those activities which we came across, there was an Outdoor Twister, Street Countdown, The Big Belfast Choir, Pro Wrestling Ulster Live, American Football, and Roller Derby as well as others; don't worry, you will find what excites you and you will definitely enjoy the whole day at the end and will be waiting for the next year.
It was really nice to attend this event - Belfast was on fire - and it really works on giving kids and adults all the fun and interesting things they could be searching for - if it happens and you came to Belfast during the event's time, you should definitely head to it and enjoy the mixture of culture and fun which you will get introduced to in the city of Belfast, Northern Ireland.
