Triveni Sangam Prayagraj | Namami Ganga | Ganga Yamuna Saraswati Sangam | Allahabad

Triveni Sangam located in Prayagraj (Allahabad) is the confluence of three rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati.
The word Prayag in Sanskrit means confluence of Rivers. We are going to the Triveni Sangam in Boat to take a dip in the Triveni Sangam. Of these three, the river Saraswati is invisible and is said to flow underground and join the other two rivers from below.

A Platform is created at the point of confluence of these rivers at Triveni Sangam for the pilgrims to take bath
. The two rivers maintain their visible identity and can be identified by their different colors.
The river yamuna is little greenish in color while Ganga is clear. It is believed that, taking a dip in the Triveni Sangam will wash away sins and free them from the cycle of rebirth, thereby achieving Moksha

The river Yamuna merges into the Ganges at this point and the Ganges continues on until it meets the sea at the Bay of Bengal.

Maha Kumbh Mela
Every 12 years, millions of people are drawn to the spiritual festival in India, the Maha Kumbh Mela, at the Triveni Sangam. Maha Kumbh Mela is the largest gathering of humanity on Earth. Over a three-month period, an estimated 100 million people attend the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. The last Kumbh Mela was in 2019

They travel thousands of kilometers all the way from Siberia via Afghanistan, Mongolia and Tibet crossing high Himalayan mountains.
