This is fourth of four known surviving films of wartime activity in Trebah Garden in Cornwall, and the surrounding area, including Mawnan Smith and Falmouth.

In 1944, thousands of troops from the 29th US Infantry Division embarked from the beach at Trebah Garden to fight on Omaha Beach at Normandy, as part of the D-Day landings. They suffered heavy casualties in their pursuit to liberate Europe.

2024 sees the 80th anniversary of D-Day, and we will be commemorating the occasion with our annual Military Day, held on Saturday 1st June - all are welcome.

These films are valuable resources which provide a fascinating insight into the lives of these brave people, the area the time and the military operatons carried out in this quite corner of Cornwall.
