Pay it forward

October 2014:
It was an interesting social experiment of the brothers Eren and Emre Döngel. Go stand on the street with a blindfold and ask people for a hug. You do not see who's coming at you, and yet you stand there with open arms. On the one hand vulnerable, on the other determined by something as simple as a hug to make the world a little more peaceful.
Next to you a sign that says: "I trust you, Do you trust me? Hug Me. " *
In the film (see comment below), which is incorporated in Istanbul, you see how the experiment goes on. At first people ignore the call. And then the first hug and a second and a third. At one time the hug action draws a nice crowd, where people take turns not to leave the hugger empty-handed. Result? Unfortunately fined for disturbing public order.

December 2014:
NJOY sees the video on Facebook and the movie touched her . Then she read an article from the online magazine "Wendy' to post movies by people who have been touched positively. she decides to pass on the movie of the blindfolded hugs to them. And then the magazine Wendy puts it online on their website. Peter reads Njoy's message on Facebook and was immediately enthusiastic. "I want to do this" he says. He asks his good friend Kabier if he wants to join in this experiment together with him in Amsterdam.

January 2015:
And so it happened that Peter and Kabier on Friday,
January 2nd, 2015 are standing at the Dam-Square in Amsterdam. Blindfolded, arms open ... Besides them a sign that reads: I trust you! Do you trust me? Hug me.
It feels quite exciting ... because how wil people react. NJOY films and photographs everything and she sees how people approach, smiling, looking and thinking :" Shall I? or shall I not?" . It is not long before a little boy is the first one who dares to give a hug. And then of it goes. The next person following after the other. And the people who give hugs to Peter and Kabier respond so sweet, positive and heartwarming: "Thank you, Happy New Year, What a great example" ... And I hear someone say "wow, they do this and they get nothing for it ... But that is not how Peter and Kabier expierience it at all. they do get something for it, a lot of positive energy and love. and that was exactly what they wanted. To be the change in the world they wish to see. with this action, they gave a lot of people a great big smile on their face. ,giving and getting ... respect, trust, openness, radiate positivity and love. we all live on one world and we are connected to each other in our diversity. Together we can make the world a little prettier ... ☼ What a great start to the new year.
