As the nation confirmed new cases of South African and Brazilian coronavirus types, the government released new standard operating procedures for all international flyers on Wednesday. According to the latest SOPs, for the next 14 days, all foreign travellers arriving from flights originating in the UK, Europe and the Middle East will have to reveal their travel history.

Without a Covid-negative report, only those travelling to India in the event of an emergency such as the death of a family member will be able to arrive. However, they can request an exception 72 hours prior to boarding on the online portal. All passengers should wear masks throughout the ride, follow social distance standards, and have downloaded the Aarogya Setu app. The passengers will have to undergo thermal scanning after deboarding to show officials the online self-declaration form they have completed.
