Gourmet Golden Rice Pilaf Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup Jasmine Rice (or Baldo rice)
4-5 Tbsp cooking oil
1-2 tsp Butter (divided)
1 Tbsp Currants
1 tsp Salt
1 Sugar Cube
1 tsp Turmeric
2 cups Water or Broth (Beef/Chicken)
Instructions:
1. Wash the rice thoroughly until the water runs clear; do not soak.
2. Heat oil in a wide, shallow pan (pilaf pan) over medium heat. Add the washed rice.
3. Sauté the rice, stirring constantly, for 4-5 minutes until translucent and slightly crispy.
4. Add 1 tsp of butter. Stir briefly until melted.
5. Add the currants and stir to combine.
6. Add 2 cups of liquid (water or broth).
7. Stir in salt, the sugar cube, and turmeric.
8. Bring to a boil, then immediately reduce heat to low. Cover the pan.
9. Cook without stirring until all water is absorbed (approximately 15-20 minutes).
10. Remove from heat and let rest, covered, for at least 30 minutes before serving.
