SUBARU Ignition Coil and Spark Plug Wires Testing and Replacement

Описание к видео SUBARU Ignition Coil and Spark Plug Wires Testing and Replacement

How to test and replace an Ignition Coil and Ignition Wires (or spark plug wires) on a Subaru.

This specific Subaru is a 2010 Impreza non-turbo. The OEM ignition coil and ignitor assembly is manufactured by Diamond Electric. The ignitor is integrated with the coil. Resistance of the primary side coil cannot be measured. However, we can measure the secondary side, and as shown in the video, a good reading is 9.5 - 12.9 k ohms.

The spark plug wires (or spark plug cords) are of different length, depending on the corresponding cylinder. Again, very easy to test as shown in the video. As a reference:
Spark plug wire for cylinder one should be between 5-12.1k ohms.
Cylinder two: 8 - 20k ohms
Cylinder three: 5 - 13k ohms
Cylinder four: 8 - 20k ohms
