We truly hope you enjoy this, and the rest of our series, Intrepid Premium SE Asia In Depth videos!
This is Part 3 of a multi part series following our travels through Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia.
After checking out of our lovely accommodation in Katchanaburi, we took our van to a small farming community that also had a family run weaving enterprise, followed by an opportunity to learn how to make coconut cakes (fYI, they are amazing!!)
We then drove 2 hours east to Ayutthaya (we saw it spelled many different ways. We had lunch here at a restaurant that was well known for its noodle soup with chicken.
Then, today’s features….. the ruins of 2 significant temples from the 2nd Dynasty of Thailand. The first was build 350 years ago and the grounds had many fantastic Buddha statues.
The next was built in the 14th century and was destroyed by the Burmese Army when it occupied the region.
We ended our day with a lovely river cruise dinner!
Our next adventure will take us north 4hours on the train to Phitsanulok where we will be transferred by van to Sukhothai
