Tips:
You can mix toners of the same brand/line to create custom shades if you wanted an "in between" shade.

Some demi permanent lines come with a Clear shade. (Ion and Clairol at Sally's). This clear shade can be used to dilute a colour so it isn;t so intense. For example, if you have level 9 hair that is only SLIGHTLY yellow...not bad at all....you can mix a level 9A with Clear to make it not as pigmented. That way you are just getting enough to tone the slight yellow vs. totally counteract the current colour.

-if you have highlights (with natural or coloured lowlights), don't use a wella toner with 20 vol developer - it could turn your darker pieces slightly orangey. Instead, use a demi permanent colour that is the same level as your highlights with a 10 vol developer, and use on slightly damp hair. Avoid solid natural roots if you can though.

-if you have brassy lowlights/darker pieces, but your highlights are fine......the easiest options are 1) going darker all over - choose a demi permanent colour that is the same level as your darker pieces/lowlights. this will tone the darker pieces but keep in mind it'll darken your highlights too. 2) get more highlights and focus on getting the lowlights or darker pieces in the foils so you have a more all over highlighted look....and less brassy darker pieces will be present. you can even get the stylist to paint inbetween the foils to completely tone all the hair left out of the foils.

ABOUT ME
Hey guys! I am a Canadian beauty "guru" - lol not really. I just love makeup, hair, fashion, design.. and I enjoy documenting these things. I'm not a false-eyelash, perfect nails, hair extensions kind of girl. My channel is for the everyday person - the lazy person, the person who colours their hair crazy colours once in a while, the person who has a budget and can't afford tons of expensive shit, the person who skips steps in the stereotypical beauty routine. This channel is evolving into something I'm really proud of. Join the fun, subscribe if you want, and we can be everyday people together. Y'know, if you like that kinda thing.
