Rajaaboy has been giving his characters some tune ups these past few days. they range from small modifications, such as that done to Sion, to some bigass stuff like his Miyako and Dhalsim. He's been doing very well, differentiating himself from a POTS imitator to a MUGENeer with his own significant take on an established style.
In this video, I take on three of his redesigned fighters with three of my choice of fighters, two from Welcome Wagon, and a long awaited return of a G-Unit member. Should be fun, right?
Solid Snake by Seanalty: Sean's Snake is an interesting sort of specimen, the dark horse of his kind. Its a rare instance of when a character from a game series that isn't a fighter is converted to the MUGEN engine and is done RIGHT. The sprites are actually pretty well put together. As far as sounds go, he has all the weapon SFX, and his voices are that of David Hayter, mainly from the Smash Bros games. Sean was cool enough to get some rips from the old PS1 version of Metal Gear Solid, although the audio quality clashes with the clearer adn newer Smash Bros Brawl voices. I love the Codec winposes. As for gameplay, he's a 6 button character, with a hop in place of the run button. He also lacks a dodge and roll, so you gotta be tactical when using him. His moveset consists of his weapons, the Socom pistol, the FA-MAS rifle, the Stinger as a super, even his beloved cardboard box makes an appearence, wherein Snake befuddles the aim of several Genome Soldiers. All in all, he's a great conversion. I'd say check him out, along with Sean's Rorschach
Sion: She was the first to recieve a small but noticeable amount of changes to her playstyle. You may notice that her gun special, which can be fired three ways, the EX version of which is a rebound shot, now has a bullet counter. Once it runs out, attempting to use it anymore will result in a FUCK YOU click and Sion gasping. From there on, you have to reload or face the consequences. She also retains the Simon Belmont Ripoff Whip. It appears as both a Shoryuken type attack, and as a low leg centric variant of Scorpion's GET OVER HERE attack. I don't know why she has Ciel's Bible Gun when she does a super with it, but she appears to have converted it into a machine gun, so I can excuse her for it. I haven't checked her alternate Vampire mode yet. Either way, if you are looking for a Melty Blood character that is fun to play while feeling like an MB personality, minus the more....questionable MB gameplay aspects, than Rajaa's Sion is the one....I just realised that I may have said something that will cause a shitstorm amongst MB fans, notably Ruine who I am informed hates Rajaa's MB characters. But I am not the person to give a toss about such things, its an opinion and its not like they're crimes against humanity. Unless you're Chris Bores.
Rock by Vyn: If you're wondering, no the sprites you see aren't what Vyn used. This is actually Shwa's Hi-Res patch. He kindly put together an SFF comprised of sprites that a Japanese (I think) artist drew. Anyway, its a nice addition you should check out. Anyway, as for gameplay, he feels liek Rock, and plays like a CvS creation of sorts with some extra bits put in, such as SF4's Focus Attack. He's slick and fast, and most of his moves are mainly Rock's moves, save for a few new additions, like hte Fully Charged Level 2 Raising STorm becoming Thunder Break. I'd say, he's a great crreation. Check him out.
Miyako: Miyako is one of two Rajaa creations to have a large scale modification, the other being Dhalsim. From what i can tell, Miyako also seems to have a Focus Atttack-style thing going. Most of her graphics have been heavily changed out. She seems to have a few things from the new Melty Blood game, Actress AGain, that is, if they're present or not. I am personally diggin' the new super screen though, Rajaa. So I say, lookin' for a balanced-to-a-degree MB char? Try his Miyako before you judge.

Dhalsim: Dhalsim also got an overhaul. I should also make note of Vigour Mode, which Rajaa's stuff has. In this case, Vigour Mode increases your stats but takes some of your health away. You can be hit out of this without regaining the health you would have by volluntarily exiting VM. There are other balancing factors, and I believe that these serve to make Rajaa a very promising author
So, in future, give Rajaa a nod. He's pretty good at this lark now.
