Описание к видео The Fivefold Teachings of Dawa Gyaltsen (Eva's Song)

This is a spontaneous work inspired by a friend's spontaneous song (which was inspired by these five lines). 🙏🙏🙏

Before I recorded this, I kept hearing her beautiful melody in my mind. It stayed with me and continued to develop. After asking her permission, I initially tried to set it to music, but stopped when self-criticism interfered. When I returned to the melody later, I felt it was 'not as bad as I thought' and re-approached it without judgment.

I connected with my inspiration and decided to record Eva’s melody. I sing the short sacred text repeatedly as a mantra, performing every part myself. Even when playing the instruments, I sing the words to keep their meaning and rhythm present.

Rather than trying to perfect the music, I stayed spontaneous and accepted imperfections. Many of my instruments were had broken strings and were damaged. Instead of fixing or hiding this, I embraced it as part of the process—symbolically embracing own neglected creativity.

The experience was challenging but deeply meaningful. It brought up long-standing pain around creativity as well as profound gratitude for the sacred text. Ultimately, this process became an act of courage and compassion—creating music from sincerity rather than fear of judgment. I repeat the mantra 21 times and it lasts 10 minutes and 8 seconds (108).
