Phoneme identification

This video introduces the concept of phonemes as the smallest unit of language that can distinguish meaning. In addition, this video also introduces the methods of testing whether a sound is a phoneme or an allophone, i.e., minimal pair, contrastive distribution, and complementary distribution. By watching this video, the viewers will understand that not all sounds are phonemes because only those with the ability to distinguish sounds are phonemes.
