Achappam is a traditional Kerala snack, crispy, golden, and with a subtle sweetness. It's an easy-to-make, delightful treat perfect for tea time. In this video, you will learn how to prepare this delicious and crispy Achappam recipe in a simple and quick way."

Ingredients:

Rice flour – 1 cup
Maida (all-purpose flour) – 2 tablespoons
Sugar – 2 teaspoons
Salt – 1/2 teaspoon
Cardamom powder – 1/4 teaspoon
Coconut milk – 1/4 cup
Water – as required
Ghee/oil – for frying
Instructions:

In a bowl, mix rice flour, maida, sugar, salt, and cardamom powder well.
Add coconut milk and mix it into the flour mixture.
Gradually add water to form a smooth batter, similar to pancake batter.
Heat ghee or oil in an achappam mould (or a deep pan) and dip the mould into the oil to heat it.
Once hot, dip the mould into the batter, then place it back into the oil. Fry until golden and crispy.
Remove the achappams from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Enjoy your crispy, golden, and delicious Achappams with tea
