So this is the fourth anniversary of Mom’s passing. Dang she would have loved the weather today and being in her garden with all of her blooming flowers. I heard this song this morning by Rodney Crowell called ”I Know Love is All I Need” and it’s about being a grown up orphan. Perfect. I sat on the porch and figured it out this afternoon. It sucks to be an orphan, so this is for all of us whose folks have moved on. Clearly, Rodney is singing about a more traditional and functional family than the one I grew up in, but it’s a sweet song, and Mom taught us how to love and how to live. Also. There will be no song tomorrow 😂.
