Today let me take you through an exploration of the festival of Ram Navami in the series of Utsav Yatra.
The word “Rama” literally means one who is divinely blissful and who gives joy to others, and one in whom the sages rejoice, and Navami means the ninth day.
Ram Navami is celebrated to mark the birth of the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu, Lord Rama in Ayodhya in Treta Yuga. This falls on the ninth day of Chaitra month in the 'Shukla paksha' corresponding to the months of March and April of the Gregorian calendar.

Lord Rama is amongst the ten avatars of Lord Vishnu and also one of the two most popular avatars along with Lord Krishna. So, Rama Navami is widely celebrated across India. Lord Rama is considered to be the epitome of perfection for fulfilling all his duties towards both family and subjects. It is believed that meditating on the noble Lord Rama and chanting his name is believed to removes the pains of life and lead one to moksha or liberation.

All over India Ram Navami is celebrated with bhakti and devotion by fasting, singing bhajans, praying together, reciting the Ramcharitmanas or chanting Sunderkand, preparing and sharing special food, and visiting Ram temples. Many people perform akhanda Ramayan Paath.
