No clear answer on this one, but hopefully there are a few useful things to consider when looking at which mixer you buy and how you use it. I'll add the link for the blog post once I've finished writing it.

I was using a new (and very cheap) lavalier mic for this. I think having the mic closer is a definite improvement, but the sound quality (and inbuild noise cancelling that can't be turned off) is a step back from my normal mic. I'll consider spending a bit more on a better one of these for future narrated videos.
