Two decades of endometriosis: ‘Nothing has changed’

Exclusive data Channel 4 News has obtained shows the experience of endometriosis sufferers hasn’t changed in two decades. It may have even gotten worse.

One in ten women in the UK have endometriosis and slowly, awareness of the condition is beginning to grow.

But surveys of women - or those assigned female at birth - with endometriosis in both 1999 and 2023 show nothing has changed across 11 categories including pain, control and social support.

So where does that leave patients? And how much longer will it be before they feel understood?
