Male Breast Reduction on Older Men: Gynecomastia Surgery

I'm happy to share a beautiful result on a 62-year-old male where we did bilateral power-assisted liposuction of the chest and excision of gynecomastia. You can see here this nice-looking guy. He's doing the best he can to take care of himself, but one thing that happens, as we get older, is sometimes fat is increased a little bit, we lose a little bit of muscle again a little bit of fat and sometimes, it goes into annoying areas, and that's true for him. He had it pretty prominently in his chest, anteriorly and laterally. I made a tiny little incision. You can see it how it healed beautifully, and it solved the problem. It's key to differentiate the real problems and how we accomplish the best Improvement for each patient. Techniques
I use several techniques for male breast reduction. Los Angeles men who have relatively good skin elasticity can often achieve a handsome result from liposuction. During liposuction, I place a small incision at the lower lateral crease of the breast. Then I use a thin, hollow tube called a cannula to loosen and remove excess fat.

Depending on your condition, I may recommend liposuction combined with breast tissue removal or breast tissue removal alone. In extreme cases, such as following massive weight loss, skin removal may be necessary as well. Given all the options, it’s important to choose a surgeon who has performed many of these procedures and takes the time to examine you, understand your goals and explain your options.

Candidates
Healthy men of any age are considered good candidates for male breast reduction surgery. The best candidates are those who have firm, elastic skin that will reshape to the body’s new contours. Many of my patients add liposuction of the midsection as a complementary procedure to eliminate love handles and maximize results.
