Описание к видео Recurrent Third Window Syndrome Co-Morbidities: Somatic Symptom Disorder

This woman was experienced a third window syndrome (superior semicircular canal dehiscence syndrome). She had sound-induced dizziness and nausea as well as autophony. She was also suffering from chronic migraine headaches and cognitive dysfunction. She had recurrent problems with left third window syndrome requiring three surgeries. This video describes third window syndrome (also referred to as otic capsule dehiscence syndrome), the associated symptoms and what this patient experienced before and after her surgeries. Her surgical outcomes were not what were expected so we completed an extensive search for other co-morbidities that were contributing to her overall health. This search revealed that she also had somatic symptom disorder, traumatic brain injury, major depressive disorder and vestibular migraine.
