Basics of NIR spectroscopy – How does NIR spectroscopy work?

Описание к видео Basics of NIR spectroscopy – How does NIR spectroscopy work?

In this video we describe how near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy works, using moisture analysis as as an example.
Solids, liquids, and creams can be analyzed without sample preparation and in less than one minute using different measurement modes: reflection, transmission, or transflection.
Mathematical models, called prediction models, relate reference values from primary methods with NIR spectra and predict unknown samples. More than one parameter can be analyzed simultaneously, which greatly increases your lab efficiency.

00:00 – Introduction (wavelength range, basic principle)
00:50 – Liquid samples or suspensions – Transmission mode
01:06 – Solid samples – Diffuse reflection mode
01:19 – Creams, pastes, and gel samples – Transflection mode
01:36 – Prediction model
02:18 – Ready-to-use pre-calibrations for different industries.
