This video shows how to plant a tree so that it has a good start and could grow faster, bigger and stronger.

The method invlolves digging a cube-shaped hole (save dug out topsoil and clay for later). It will stop roots from going round in circles later on.
It is a substantial hole, 1m x 1m x 1m.

Then we fill it with good stuff:
1/3 mixture (topsoil, compost, green mulch eg. grass clippings or leaves, with addition of some kelp and egg shell dust). Cover this layer with thin layer of small stones and place air pocket in the middle (pile of dead wood and bones covered with hessian bag)
1/3 topsoil. Place a big stone in the middle as anchor for tree roots and place your tree on top of it
1/3 mixture (the same as bottom one)

Form a mound from clay around the tree, that will help catch water.

Water your tree generously and also every 6 months with 1 litre of sea water.
