To celebrate International Human Solidarity Day 2017 musician Shona Mooney travelled to Canada and Italy to record a new version of Human Equality by William Lloyd Garrison (1871).

In November, Amy Leach joined Shona in Canada, where they began recording Human Equality at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. The following month, Clara People and Andrea Goroni added drums, guitar, bass, vocals to the track and the whole recording was finally mixed/mastered in Fenice Studio, Italy.

Now that Shona has returned home to Scotland, she has had time to make this simple photo-video to accompany the track. The photos document the journey and she has decided to release the track to raise awareness of International Human Solidarity Day.

This project was made possible by the Step Travel Grant, European Cultural Foundation. Thank you to everyone involved - it has been such an amazing few months.
