Guide Dogs of America is a training program which matches dogs to visually impaired individuals through a process of bonding and education.

All puppies are born and bred on-site and then sent to a volunteer's home to be raised. Once the raising and initial training process is over, these prospective guide dogs return to campus and are matched with a "student," or a blind/visually impaired individual. Each dog is carefully selected and matched to a student.

The student and dog live together in a dorm on-site for bonding, and the dogs undergo guide dog training process. Once the dogs graduate, they are sent to live with the student and act as their guide dog.

This program allows visually impaired individuals independence and companionship.
